Overview
At Book That Boat, we strive to provide a seamless booking experience and ensure customer satisfaction. This policy explains when refunds are available, how they are processed, and what happens in the case of last-minute cancellations, weather issues, or no-shows.
No-Quibble Full Refund (More Than 72 Hours Before Departure)
You may cancel your booking for a full refund of the charter amount if the cancellation is made more than 72 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.
This gives you flexibility to change your plans while ensuring that the Boat Owner and crew have adequate notice to reallocate the slot.
Partial Refund (Between 72 and 24 Hours Before Departure)
Cancellations made between 72 and 24 hours before the scheduled departure are eligible for a 50% refund.
The remaining 50% is retained to cover operational commitments such as crew, provisioning, and lost booking opportunities for the Boat Owner.
No Refund (Within 24 Hours of Departure)
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled departure are non-refundable.
At this stage, the yacht, crew, and associated services are fully committed, and it is unlikely that the slot can be rebooked.
Exceptional Circumstances
In cases of severe weather, operational issues, or other extraordinary events that prevent the trip from taking place safely or legally, you will be offered one of the following, in accordance with our policy and the Boat Owner's operational constraints:
- A full refund of the charter amount; or
- A free rescheduling to another available date and time, where possible.
The decision to postpone or cancel due to weather or safety is generally taken by the Boat Owner or captain, in coordination with marinas and relevant authorities. Your safety is always our first priority.
Refund Processing
Eligible refunds will be processed back to the original payment method used at the time of booking.
Once approved, refunds are typically initiated within a few working days from our side. Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take an additional 5–10 business days for the funds to appear in your account.
Where third-party payment processors or card issuers are involved, their timelines and policies may also apply.
No-Show Policy
Failure to appear for your scheduled booking without prior cancellation will be considered a "no-show".
In the case of a no-show:
- The booking is non-refundable.
- The full charter amount will be forfeited.
This policy ensures fairness to Boat Owners and crew, who may have turned away other bookings to accommodate your reservation and have already incurred costs in preparation for your trip.
Changes vs. Cancellations
Minor changes to your booking (such as guest names or certain onboard requests) may be accommodated subject to availability and operational constraints.
Significant changes, such as date, time, or duration, may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking, depending on how close they are to the departure time. Our team will clarify what is possible in your specific case.
